Our Creator

Our Creator is awesome! His works are perfect and complete. All of creation speaks of His glory and infinite wisdom. Our world operates on a set of laws by which we can live, function, make plans and even project into the future. God made a promise to Mankind after the flood and Noah had offered a burnt offering that was found acceptable. God said in Genesis 8:22: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. In verse 6 we are reminded of this word regarding its implications. If you sow sparingly then it is certain that your harvest would be of same quantity. This is specifically referring to our duty towards those who are less privileged. As believers in Christ Jesus, we are required to give generously as an act of sowing and God who never lets His word go unfulfilled promises that we will be rewarded bountifully Gal 6:9. What a privilege! That generousity never goes unnoticed by God. This is in itself one of the best ways to receive His unhindered blessings. Sometimes, we wonder why non-believers are easily blessed. We may be surprised to know that this principle of sowing and reaping applies to all. This act is not limited to material gifts but extends to whatever activities we can perform for those in need and also to the House of God. Unfortunately, the reverse situation applies when we withold from giving: Prov 11:24 says it leads to poverty! It's a test we fail very often. Christ restated this principle in Luke 6:38; Give, and it will be given to you.A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. He lets us realize that the measure is important. Beyond giving itself is the heart of giving. Our God who sees past our actions and deep into our hearts wants more importantly to come with a heart of joy; not with bitterness or grudge. In fact, God dislikes a gift that is done forcefully. Are we giving out of pressure after having been compelled? It defeats the purpose. Are we making a public show of our acts of giving so as to be acclaimed by men? Then we have missed the point. We often fear that if we give then we would not have enough for ourselves. We can rest assured that God is more than capable and willing to to make all grace abound to us (2 Cor 9:8). Paul shared this with the Phillipian church: "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Ph 4:19)" assuring us of God's willingness to meet not some but all of our needs. In these end times, we have heard these messages being preached by both God's true messengers and altered versions being used by false prophets to extort worshippers. Does this in any way diminish the efficacy of these words? Not at all! Gods words remain true irrespective of our attitudes. By our acts of giving and generousity towards God's work and in support of the gospel of Christ, we are not just experiencing an overflowing of God's blessings but ensuring that He is glorified through us.
