Youths exhibiting spirituality through disobedience to parents and CCC doctrine is drunkenness of pride in knowledge of the scripture without wisdom.
True spirituality is possessing the Holy Spirit of God as a result of receiving salvation through Jesus Christ. True spirituality is the fruit that the Holy Spirit produces in a person’s life according to Galatians 5:22-23. Spirituality is all about having our character conformed to His image not drunk with biblical knowledge demonstrating pride in knowledge.
In Proverbs 8:5 some translations speak of the need to develop “common sense,” which other translations simply call “prudence” or “discretion.” Biblically, common sense can be thought of as a combination of wisdom and discretion (Proverbs 3:21; 8:12–14).
Biblical knowledge or demonstrating faith doesn’t take away your sense of responsibility as a youth to your household, church and society.
Part of being a fool is having no common sense or being “void of understanding,” as the KJV puts it (Proverbs 7:7; 24:30). When we choose to make decisions based on wisdom not knowledge, we are exercising common sense.
Knowledge is what is gathered over time through study of the Scriptures. It can be said that wisdom, in turn, acts properly upon that knowledge. Wisdom is the fitting application of knowledge. Knowledge understands the light has turned red; wisdom applies the brakes. Knowledge sees the quicksand; wisdom walks around it. Knowledge memorizes the Ten Commandments; wisdom obeys them. Knowledge learns of God; wisdom loves Him.
